Man, it has been a tough month for the Fantasy Acting League. When I started calculating the scores, I had a pretty organised filing system. I had every actor (not just our teams, but every actor who has been in anything in 2015), lined up and I had every statistic I needed (for the record, we missed a trick by not picking Kate Winslet), I could possibly need. Then halfway through the year, my computer crashed. I managed to save the data, but for some reason, the memory wasn’t quite retained. When I typed in an actor’s name, my old computer would let me know if he was in something earlier this year. It was really helpful when it came to the supporting actors like Jim Broadbent, who have been in hundreds of things, but none that I could remember off the top of my head. However, my new computer refuses to do that. Therefore, it has been a much tougher struggle to bring you these scores.
I am not giving up. This won’t be a problem next year, as I will have all my files under the same computer, rather than jumping in between two different systems. It just means that for the last three rounds of this year, I am going to be focusing only on the actors we have chosen. This is a shame, because I wanted to do a nice, 2015 overview, but I am going to be unable to do this now. Which means it is simply, all about winning from here on out. And below, there are plenty of shocks to see us into the last few legs of this truly remarkable race.

Round Analysis
In many ways, this is quite a slow week. Only four actors scored and while they were all heavy-hitters, it meant that there was little movement in the league tables. It will probably be something we should expect as OSCAR season draws nearer. However, those small movements that did happen, have majorly shaken things up. For one, it meant that quite a few dangerous teams were stuck with zero points. Verbal Spew’s rampage seems to have dried up and it meant that Cinema Parrot Disco, with the always reliable Cate Blanchette under her belt, could finally get distance between her closest rival. Drew and Mr. Movie also lose momentum this week, as they become victim to the people just behind them, hungry for the lead. (As Drew pointed out, I actually missed that he also had Cate Blanchette on his team, so I have adjusted the table accordingly. Let me know if this happens and I will amend the game as soon as possible.)
However, the big shock this round has to be the brand new pack leader. For a while, we have been watching Cinema Parrot Disco and Verbal Spew, wondering which one will take the throne. Few suspected a third option. However, Marked Movies, sporting both Michael Fassbender (two lead roles in five star movies one week after the other – what a choice of champion for his team!), and Jessica Chastain, raced ahead and is now one point clear of the lead. Cinema Parrot Disco might have left Verbal Spew in the dust, but she took her eyes off the prize and now she has a whole new enemy to face off against. It is also worth noting how high Sporadic Chronicles of a Beginner Blogger has climbed, 13 points causing a major shake-up in the middle of the table. Also Movie Rob got some more points! So yes, a week both small and big – and endlesly interesting.
finally Tom Hanks comes thru for me! 🙂
Hey Luke, buddy, not that it’s a HUGE deal but… Cate Blanchette is on my team. 🙂
God. How the hell did I miss that? Sorry, thanks for pointing it out. I will move you up to fifth
Thanks. It’s not first but I’ll take it. 😛
Well done, Marked Movies! Considering the start of the year I am glad to have wallowed in mediocrity and finished in the glorious middle!
There are two more rounds to go yet.
I am such a ditz…
Whoop! That was a pleasant surprise for me this evening 😁
This is wonderful news. Wonderful. I knew The Fass would pay off. That said, I have a slight query. Wasn’t Slow West also in this issue where it was given 4stars and The Fass briefly praised in a small review?
He was in an issue some time ago. His points were already added to your score.
Cool, man. Must have been some short DVD review I read or something. Gettin a taste for more points now. Lol.
That aside, it’s been a great contest mate. Very interesting. 🙂
Thank you. Although there are two rounds left, next week I am going to whip around and get people’s teams for next year, so put your thinking cap on! 😛
Nice! I’m definitely in for next year. I’ll start doing some homework. 🙂

Nuuuu! *Luke Skywalker ugly crying into large G&T*
THIRD! My fall from grace will continue throughout Oscar season no doubt. Unless Channing wins something for Magic Mike XXL. I like in hope, but obviously, I also live on a different planet.
This is so amazing.
